Will NYC Schools Uphold COVID-19 Practices?

While NYC students are continuing to stay home, schools prepare for what could come next when they reopen. In a typical school year, schools often lack basic supplies. Soap, tissues, and classroom supplies are often running low and left for parents and staff to purchase. Similarly, school schedules will have to adjust to allot time for adequate hand washing practices.

NYC is also dealing with a shortage of school nurses. This is a crucial point for the success of schools and managing sickness. Governor Andrew Cuomo mentioned that NY State will administer new cleaning regimens in schools and on public transportation. As students and faculty adjust to new protocols, our hope is to be back in school- safe, healthy, and comfortable.
